Cutting Red Tape to Attract Investment and Protect Ontario Jobs

President Trump’s tariffs are threatening Ontario workers, businesses and our economy. That’s why our Ontario PC team is fighting back by lowering costs, cutting red tape and making Ontario the most competitive place in the G7 to invest, build and create good-paying jobs.

Since 2018, we’ve removed more than 14,000 regulatory compliance requirements, giving Ontario the lowest regulatory burden per capita in Canada and saving people and businesses more than $1.3 billion and 1.8 million hours every year.

Lower Costs. Faster Approvals. More Investment.

Cutting unnecessary red tape means businesses can spend less time dealing with paperwork and more time investing, expanding and creating jobs.

We’re continuing that work by reviewing 350 economic development-related permits, with a goal of eliminating or transforming 35 per cent of them by 2028.

That means faster approvals, lower costs and fewer barriers standing in the way of businesses that want to invest and grow right here in Ontario.

Building a More Competitive Ontario

At a time of global economic uncertainty and U.S. tariffs, we need to do everything we can to make Ontario the best place to invest and create jobs.

By cutting red tape and lowering the cost of doing business, our Ontario PC team is protecting Ontario jobs, attracting new investment and building a stronger, more competitive and self-reliant economy.

We’ll keep fighting for Ontario workers and businesses and doing whatever it takes to protect our economy.
